Ghost is not the kind of commercial you expect from Ikea, which has been promoting the goodness of family life for a number of years and has been spreading playful advertising throughout the world.
Ghost is a horror story, a suspenseful ninety seconds that will make your nerves tighten; a psychological drama. Unlike traditional horror movies, it contains no explicit violence because this Ikea film’s purpose is to expose the psychological effect of domestic violence and to highlight the fact that intimate partner violence stays with its victim wherever they go. They are never free. The film comes from Prague agency, Triad Advertising. The film’s tension comes from director, Marek Partys, at Bistro Films.

The film ends with the message, “Domestic abuse is real even if it is not always visible. 47% of Czech women have experienced some sort of mental abuse at home.”
It doesn’t back a cause or ask for donations. Instead, it notes that “Every home should be a safe place”.
