The Fondazione culture e musei and MUSEC Lugano, in collaboration with the 29 ARTS IN PROGRESS gallery in Milan and the Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti in Venice have opened entries for the 4th annual Open call for young 18 – 36 year old photographers, UNPUBLISHED PHOTO 2022 – UP21.
The competition is free to enter.
The exhibition of winners’ works of Unpublished Photo 2022 will be staged in the Spazio Maraini at Villa Malpensata (Lugano, Switzerland) from October 20 2022 to February 12 2023. At the end of the exhibition, the works will become part of the MUSEC collections, adding to a photographic heritage that now counts over 40,000 works from the mid-nineteenth century to the present day.
This Global Open Call has no theme constrictions and applicants just need to submit 10 images, a description of the project and a short biography, within the April 10 2022 deadline, at https://www.fcmusei.ch/contest/
In addition, Artphilein Editions, will also produce and publish a limited-edition catalogue of one of the young finalists and the overall project.
A cash prize of 2,000 swiss francs will be awarded to the first prize winner, 1,500 swiss francs to the second prize winner and 1,000 swiss francs each to the third and fourth finalists through a partnership with De Pietri Artphilein Foundation.
The competition jury, made up of leading figures from the world of art and photography, will select four finalists from the international photography scene.
At the end of the exhibition in Lugano, the works exhibited will become part of the MUSEC collections, thus enriching a photographic heritage that now counts over 40,000 works from the mid-nineteenth century to the present day.
