Santa is the latest person to show derision for Coca-Cola’s AI Christmas commercial. He has been linked to Coca-Cola since the 1920s through its advertising – and now he has switched to Pepsi. The provocative carpe diem by Vayner Media is being splashed across social media (Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok and YouTube), in a guerilla campaign, with Pepsi declaring that Santa Claus “officially” prefers Pepsi Zero Sugar to Coke Zero Sugar.
To convince others to switch, Pepsi’s Santa is offering up to US$2.50 cash back for customers who purchase a 600ml Pepsi Zero Sugar and text “Taste” to 81234, through December 31.
The very New York Santa was spotted leaving a bodega with a gift bag full of Pepsi Zero Sugar. He even showed up at SantaCon NYC, the annual event in which crowds go bar-hopping dressed as Santa.
