Melbourne After Dark is the ultimate sampling campaign – the chance for Australians to get a taste of Melbourne night life without leaving their home city.
The of one-off pop-up events, which are part of Visit Victoria’s marketing campaign, A Twist at Every Turn, by Clemenger Melbourne, features the things that make Melbourne exciting – its live music acts, food, drink, arts and entertainment, and kicks off in Sydney.
For one night only on Saturday November 25, Sydney’s King Cross Hotel will be transformed into a vertical Melbourne laneway over five levels.
Sydney’s Melbourne After Dark will start at 5.00pm and run until 8.00am on Sunday, November 26, with Melbourne comedian, Joel Creasey, as MC. The 15-hour event will feature a headline act by Melbourne artist Remi, as well as popular Melbourne artists and DJs such as Saskwatch, The Delta Riggs, The Harpoons, Totally Mild, Midnight Juggernauts (DJ set), Jay Katz and a RRR radio DJ take-over.
Guests will also have the chance to taste dishes from some of Melbourne’s most famous restaurants, as well as cocktails, Victorian wine and craft beer, and Melbourne-quality barista-made coffee.
Melbourne After Dark will also be traveling to Brisbane and Adelaide in the following weeks – giving locals a taste of Melbourne in their own city. The event is free to enter. Sydneysiders simply need to register.
Peter Bingeman, chief executive officer of Visit Victoria, commented, “There are so many sides to Melbourne – it’s serious, playful, quiet, dramatic, cultural and sport-obsessed. The new Twist at Every Turn campaign reminds Australians that Melbourne is a city that is always on, always evolving in the best possible way, so any visit is an adventure towards uncovering its many layers and depth of experiences.”
