Disinformation is insidious. With its images generated by AI and based on fake news, the impact of the problem is growing.
Animal Político is an independent Mexican media created four years ago. Its work includes helping citizens to verify rumors that circulate on social networks through a verifichat called The Hound. Through this work Animal Político has become one of the main media sources in the country.
To increase awareness about the impact of disinformation, Animal Político teamed up with Weber Shandwick, McCann Mexico & MRM to develop the first World Museum of Lies.
This can be accessed through https://museodelamentira.org where anyone in the world can browse an exhibition that fights against misinformation. Its exhibitions contain fake news that has circulated on social networks and with the collaboration of artists who used artificial intelligence (AI) tools, visually graphs the negative impact that this supposed news has.

Rodrigo Tarquino, creative vice president of Weber Shandwick Mexico, stated, “Our scope of action is to develop initiatives that make our clients to be significant and generate important connections with their audience. This first World Museum of Lies envisions that and addresses one of the major challenges of our time.”
