The ANZ ATMs in central Sydney are brilliant this week. Literally brilliant. Each has been transformed into a dazzling artwork by Whybin\TBWA Group Melbourne – mardi gras-ified by hand in rhinestones, sequins, studs, leather, denim and fur, unicorns, drag queens, rainbows and tattoos.
They even ‘speak’ gay: the ATM screens carry messages and well wishes such as ‘Hello gorgeous’, ‘Cash out and proud’ and ‘Happy Mardi Gras!’
And they dispense rainbow coloured receipts.
ANZ has also pledged to donate the ATM operator fees for cardholders from other banks to nonprofit org Twenty10, which supports young people and provides a community resource to those coming out or discovering their sexual identities.
“ANZ has been a major sponsor of and participant in the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras since 2007, recently announcing a further three year commitment as inaugural Principal Partner,” stated Carolyn Bendall, head of Australia marketing ANZ.
“ANZ’s GAYTMs are a fun and colourful way of bringing our ATMs out to celebrate diversity and show our support for one of Australia’s largest festivals.”
