Wieden+Kennedy is doing more than parking its clients’ brands in culture. It is cultivating culture. In September 2025, the agency launched its first edition of THE WEEKEND at its Tokyo office. On March 6-7 it will hold its third. Wieden+Kennedy Tokyo launched as a space where fashion, music, art, and community live together. THE WEEKEND creates moments for people to encounter new culture ̶ and new versions of themselves.
The first two editions of THE WEEKEND were a 100+ piece NIKE Vintage Watch exhibition and a RUNNING CULTURE showcase in collaboration with Amsterdamʼs Patta running team. Vol.3 turns its focus to a rarely seen archival collection: LOCAL CREW – Items for the People Behind the Music. This edition presents and sells more than 150 original local crew items from the 1990s to 2000s – T-shirts, staff passes, stickers, and tour ephemera that were never commercially released. These pieces were distributed exclusively to backstage staff and production teams supporting global artists on. They are artefacts of music history.
Featured artists include AC/DC, Aerosmith, Alicia Keys, Backstreet Boys, Beck, Beyoncé, Björk, Beastie Boys, Britney Spears, Grateful Dead, Green Day, Incubus, Janet Jackson, Jay-Z, KISS, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, Metallica, Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails, No Doubt, Nirvana, Oasis, Pearl Jam, Pharrell Williams, Public Enemy, Rage Against the Machine, Run-D.M.C., Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sade, The Rolling Stones, TLC, Weezer and more.
All exhibited items will be available for purchase (while supplies last).

An exclusive newspaper, VERBAL, distributed during the event, will feature a special long-form interview with VERBAL, the artist, music producer, and CEO of AMBUSH.
In the interview, VERBAL reflects on what WEEKEND means in his life, how he sustains creativity, sources of inspiration and the mindset of continuously updating oneself.
The cover artwork is created by renowned artist, MADSAKI, anchoring the project further in cross-disciplinary culture.
The exhibition will also feature DJ and live performances, reinforcing THE WEEKEND as a gathering space, not just a retail moment. Artist include Ryo Takaiwa ̶ vocalist, author, performer, and founder of jazz club, Brother, whose work spans jazz, hip-hop, rock, electronic and beyond, and KENTACATS, Tokyo-based DJ/Producer blending techno and contemporary dance music, and member of electro-acid-funk project, INF.
