It’s Pride Month and upscale fitness club chain, Equinox, is using Wieden + Kennedy’s creativity to make its support public for the third year.
This year the agency has created a five-minute film, LGBTQA Alphabet. Six Letters Will never be Enough, that explores the diversity of the LGBTQA community. The film is divided into 26 micro-documentaries in the form of interpretive dance vignettes, each corresponding to a word associated with LGBTQA identity, with narration by the vignette’s central character.
The film was developed in collaboration with The LGBT Community Center. It was directed by director Jordan Bahat and choreographed by Andrew Winghart and will run on Equinox social channels throughout June.
Equinox will also hold #POWEREDBYPRIDE party events in cities across its portfolio, including New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Toronto and Chicago. And it will hold special Pride editions of its Hip-Hop Yoga class for Equinox members.
The film is seen as an extension of Equinox’ notion that what you commit to is who you are and its encouragement to be proud and unapologetic about that. It is meant to empower its viewers to find their own ways of expressing the richness of who they are.
