Coronavirus is running rampant in South America and Chile has extended its lockdown for more than four months. Business is not going to reopen any time soon so it’s nearly impossible to visit a Burger King there.
With this in mind, Burger King Chile has partnered with Wena Los Cauro, a group of chilean YouTubers and video game modders (that’s modifiers for anyone else who needed it explained), who developed an exact replica of a Burger King inside a modded (yep, that’s modified) version of the classic GTA San Andreas. This virtual Burger King, therefore, is the only Chilean Burger King restaurant fans can visit with no risk at all. They can also win free Whoppers just for visiting.
The first Burger King you can visit online, to win Whoppers in real life, devised by agency, Wolf BCPP, invites consumers to live the virtual experience of being in the Home of the Whopper, where they will be able to “buy” and “eat” virtual Whoppers, go through the Auto King and make their orders, and participate to win real Whoppers just by sharing a screenshot on Instagram with the hashtag #WenaLosBurgers.
The digital activation was promoted with several streamings of the experience on Twitch, showing situations that were beyond hilarious considering that there are literally no rules on what can happen inside or outside of this virtual Burger King.
To participate, fans have to own a PC version of the game, a patch that can be obtained in the social channels of Wena Los Cauro and login in the server where Wena Los Cauros hosts its moddings.
