Howatson+Company has appointed Zac Pritchard as executive creative director. Pritchard starts today and reports to the agency’s chief creative officer, Richard Shaw. He joins from Dentsu Creative where he was most recently executive creative director after joining the agency nearly three years ago. He has also held creative director positions at AKQA, Energy BBDO & mcgarrybowen in the US.
Richard Shaw, chief creative officer, Howatson+Company, stated, “It was obvious from our first conversation that Zac’s energy, ambition and the type of work that drives him meant he would be the perfect addition to Howatson+Company. The way Zac approaches work is incredibly exciting. So having him look at problems from a different perspective means the shape of our work is going to continue to turn up in surprising ways.”
On what drew him to Howatson+Company, Pritchard commented, “In a word, hunger. I still want to make the best work of my career. I still want to make work that makes brands famous, and agencies the envy of the industry. I’ve been doing this for a while, and I still have this insatiable hunger to make good ideas for clients. And I feel like that hunger is shared with the team at H+Co.
“My role in all of this is to defend and nurture good creative ideas. That means understanding the challenges and fears our clients are facing before building confidence with the work we make. Then it’s about working with Rich and the teams to continue to make the creative product better and better. If I can do that, it’ll help continue the success of the agency and hopefully improve on the last 5 years of awesome H+Co creative that Chris and Rich and the entire team have built.”
Shaw added, “Right now, there are some amazing briefs in the department that are perfect for the way Zac thinks. So once he’s had a coffee and found his desk, he’s going to be diving right into those opportunities and collaborating with the teams.”
Chris Howatson, CEO and founder, Howatson+Company, stated, “Zac brings a flash of energy to every room he enters. He’s both strategic and mature, while being playful and youthful all at the same time. I think it’s this juxtaposition that makes him an excellent creative and leader. We couldn’t be more delighted to welcome him to H+Co, and for many of us, to work together again.”
