Google’s newest home gadget, Google Nest Hub Max, combines the Google Home Max, Nest Camera, and the Google Home Hub into one device with a 10-inch display. It’s loaded with product features including facial recognition that activates a personalised home page, video calling, security camera, thermostat control and voice assistant. It can also act as a TV.
But promoting it is an emotive film by 72andSunny LA, in which Google Nest Hub Max hardly features (à la Apple). It’s a film about home life. Real home life. The funny things that go wrong as well as the aah! moments when things go right…plus the adland “essential” one love scene. The message is You make a house a home. We make a home.

Interestingly, the ad was directed by Aussie ex-pat, Mark Molloy, and produced by Smuggler, as was Apple’s latest film, Apple at Work – The Underdogs.
The campaign, which was unveiled at Google I/O to underline the announcement of the Google Nest Hub Max device, marks the rebranding of Google Nest, bringing it back into the Google hardware range.
