A dad teaches himself via Google all the things he needs to support his daughter’s football passion, beginning with “where to buy an AFL football?” all the way to “what’s a blinder”. It’s not a unique story idea but it’s beautifully told and it will make you cry – which will make you remember the message that Google products help Aussies every day.

The new campaign by 72andSunny Sydney for Google Australia is part of Google’s partnership with the AFL as well as a broader brand campaign that highlights the usefulness of Google products.
“Google believes that the most helpful technology is what you need it to be, and Search can equip parents with the tools to play every support role to help their children thrive,” 72andSunny explained.
The campaign’s hero film will air during AFL and AFLW games in 60-second and 30-second versions. A 90-second version will also run during the Women’s AFL Grand Final on April 17-18.
The film will be supported by a YouTube campaign and Channel 7 in-show integration highlighting new Google technology.
“We know community matters to Australians more than ever before. We’re excited to build on our partnership with the AFL by telling an emotionally driven story about how Google Search can help parents help their kids thrive by playing sports. We’re proud of the work, and of our partnership with 72andSunny,” stated Cameron Luby, director of marketing, consumer apps and platforms, Google Australia.

“We always love working with Google, and this campaign has been no different. The team ambition paired with the craft and emotion we were able to capture, all made it very special to be a part of, and we’re stoked to be launching this in Australia,” added Luke Martin, head of product, 72andSunny Sydney.
