The Gerety Awards has opened its extended deadline. The new deadline April 19, so there is still time to join the first edition and be awarded by the Gerety jury.
All types of media can be entered into any of the Gerety Awards 9 categories called CUTS, (like a diamond) Media, Innovation, Entertainment, Communication, Craft, Experience, Works for Good, Health and Portfolios. All work broadcast between January 2018 and the deadline are eligible for entry and the works are judged on two criteria: originality of the idea and its execution.
The Gerety Awards Jury includes some of the world’s leading agency and brand creatives such as Cristiana Boccassini, chief creative officer, Publicis Italy,
Alise Lize Karaboga, managing partner, Ultra & newton.ddc Turkey, Lixaida Lorenzo, group creative director, David and Goliath USA and Dörte Spengler-Ahrens, chief creative officer, Jung Von Matt/SAGA Germany
The Gerety trophy was created by artists, Carla Bossi and Francesc Fusté, from TXT in Barcelona. TXT is a company of artists who build art for sets and scenography in cinema and advertising, private orders and museums. It also creates art works of its own, specialising in cement, mosaic and paint for all scale projects.
Bossi explained, “As sculptors and set designers, we always wanted to create a trophy that would honour its winners but also become an art work that would be with them in their everyday lives. The offer from Gerety was a challenge, so many things have been already done. Diamonds, ideas, search, burn, obstacles, imagination and hard work. Creativity is hard work. You have to chew, crush, be brave and not be afraid of being hurt. That is what Fire trophy represents, the original flames, where carbon burns for a diamond to be born. The fire, restless flames of creatives searching for originality, essentialism.”
There will be different trophies for Gold, Silver, Bronze and Grand Prix. One Grand Prix can be awarded in each CUT, but only when the Grand jury majority agrees that one of the gold winners in that CUT is truly the very best in the world. Gold, Silver and Bronze winners must reach a predetermined score decided by the grand jury.
