Advertising for good causes. This has become an incubator for great ideas and remarkable innovations. And this year Advertising Community Together – Responsible (ACT Responsible) is showing off the best of them again at Cannes.
Its 2018 exhibition, Great Ads for Good Causes, will show off 81 of the most innovative ideas that 72 agencies from 30 countries came up with in support of good causes, responsible behaviour and sustainable development.
All visitors are invited to interact by voting for their favourite campaigns, either at the event or online, until Wednesday June 20 at 18:00.
“This year, certain themes stand out from others. Mental health, plastic pollution, domestic violence and donation clearly caught the attention of advertisers. We also found many campaigns about human rights, women empowerment, but if this year’s exhibition was to be described in one word, it would be ‘solidarity’,” ACT Responsible noted.
As well as the traditional tributes to Creativity for Good, ACT Responsible will launch Champions of Good this year, a brand new annual tribute celebrating the champions behind the work – the brands, movement-makers, non-profits and industry leaders at their spearhead.
“This is not an award. There is no competition and there is no winner. The goal of this tribute is simply to acknowledge those champions, highlight clever and creative programs, share best practices and inspire others,” stated Hervé de Clerck, ACT Responsible dream leader.
The inaugural ACT Champions of Good Tribute will be presented to:
- Tarana Burke, founder of the “me too.” movement
- Marco Lambertini, director general of WWF International
- Michael Roth, chairman & chief executive officer of Interpublic
- Marc Pritchard, chief brand officer, Procter & Gamble.
The event, which is supported by FCB Worldwide, will be hosted Thursday June 21 at 17:30 PM at the Boat FCB, Quai Albert Edouard, behind the Palais. A private tour of the exhibition is being organised at 17:00 in Debussy Foyer, Palais des Festivals.
ACT Responsible was been gathering and disseminating the best good causes campaigns since 2001, to support their fundamental power in raising awareness and educating citizens to build a better and more sustainable society.
