Bulldog understands men. And because no man is going to pay attention to a warm hug “we understand you” message – even if it is from a skincare brand called Bulldog, adam&eveDDB is showing Bulldog’s understanding via a telepathic bulldog who dishes out some hard knocks coaching to the ad’s central character, a bloke called Andy who is about to rob a bank with a water pistol.
The brand’s new ambassador, the truth-saying Telepathic Bulldog, understands men in a manly way. Understands that Andy is completely unsuited to robbing a bank and is just feeling desperate because of the upcoming wedding season. Obviously, skin care and a shave is a better solution than crime.
Oh…and…Bulldog and adam&eveDDB also understand that men don’t pay attention to their skin. But they do pay attention to a film about a bloke who’s planning to rob a bank with a water pistol until he gets some hard knocks coaching from a bulldog, which includes that he should man up and make himself look good for what the wedding season brings.
Nick Parker, head of marketing at Bulldog Skincare For Men, commented, “At Bulldog we sometimes hear men’s skincare described as a low interest category. We don’t believe there’s such a thing as a low interest category, only low interest brands. The Telepathic Bulldog is a funny, provocative and distinctive way of raising Bulldog’s voice in the category and making our category more interesting to men in the UK.”
The film, Bank Robbery, which was directed by Gary Freedman through Independent Films, is running on TV and online.
