adam&eveDDB is about to lose both its CCO and CSO. They intend to launch their own business in February 2025.
Brim has been chief creative officer at adam&eveDDB for more than 11 years. Before joining adam&eve, he was creative director and partner at CHI & Partners for 13 years, creative director at Leo Burnett, and he began his career with a five year stint at Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe. Beverley has led the strategy department for nine years. The agency that sits on the top rung for creative reputation worldwide seems to have been the “training ground” for agency startups. Three of the original founders, James Murphy, David Golding and Jon Forsyth, have left to start their own agencies. Murphy and Golding launched New Commercial Arts (recently sold to WPP’s Ogilvy) and Forsyth founded Neverland. Plus former joint CEO, Matt Goff, has set up Ark.
Brim commented, “As we write this, we are still questioning why we would leave such a wonderful place packed with such talented people. Whilst we are very proud of what we have achieved here, it’s now time for something different.”
Current CEO of adam&eveDDB, Miranda Hipwell, stated, “While we’re obviously extremely sad to be losing Rick and Martin, we’re so proud of everything we’ve achieved together and very excited to see them head off to become entrepreneurs. Start-ups are a crucial contributor to the lifeblood of our industry – as the tremendous success of adam&eveDDB and its previous incarnations has proven over the years – and it’s wonderful to see the agency spawning a new generation of entrepreneurs. Meanwhile we’re looking forward to the next chapter of adam&eveDDB as we expand and build on the success we’ve had in 2024.”
Replacements for Brim and Beverley are yet to be announced. Meanwhile, creatives will report to DDB Worldwide president and global CCO, Chaka Sobhani.
adam&eveDDB was formed when London agency, adam&eve, was bought by Omnicom Group’s DDB Worldwide in 2014. DDB Worldwide. In 2022, adam&eveDDB launched in Germany and in 2023, adam&eveNYC and DDB New York merged to become adam&eveDDB in NYC.
