A month ago, adam&eve/DDB got Virgin Atlantic to challenge its audiences to pursue their goals, because “the world doesn’t go to you, so go to it”. The overarching theme was Let it Fly.
Brilliant.
Now it gets even better.
Everyone dreams about taking a holiday but once you’ve mentally packed your bag, the dream has taken a step a whole lot closer to reality.
So adam&eve/DDB teamed up with Acne Production to create an interactive website under the theme, Let It Fly, on which you get to pack a virtual suitcase. In other words, you tell Virgin the kind of holiday you want to take.
Then the site picks the perfect destination, and comes up with a mini travel film that suggests an itinerary, including places to eat (even dishes to try) and tourist attractions to tempt you, based on the items you chose. Tweets and Flickr images from venues and attractions in and around your destination are added in. And just for good measure, the film starts with the current temperature in your location, that is a little reminder of why you want to get away.
The film ends by showing you the places recommended for you on a map, with links to a city guide to your destination, and another to enter a competition to win a flight by sharing your personal bag on social media.
