A Black Friday – Cyber Monday campaign that cuts through the screaming price discounts. Amazon has turned real customer reviews left by customers into dramatic monologues presented by actor, Adam Driver, best known for dramatic roles in Star Wars and Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis.
Most hilarious so far is the banana slicer spot – because the product comes from the trivia of products and the review comes from the banality of life. (Albeit, incredibly the banana slicer is a viral fave.)
Other spots include review-monologues for the plush seal and the Dutch oven. The commercials will run across paid social – TikTok, Meta and Snapchat, premium online video (across a variety of streamers, including Thursday Night Football on Amazon Prime Video), and Amazon’s Instagram, Facebook and YouTube accounts.
Amazon has also produced a more traditional Christmas campaign that tugs hearts rather than tickling funny bones.
