You might feel as though there are a lot of gratuitous LGBTQ scenes in ads these days. Or you might feel that its time LGBTQ people were represented in ads. BBDO Belgium and Douwe Egberts have just shown that the response to LGBTQ content is overwhelmingly positive.
Their 40-second spot, Something to Share, that unveils a dad adeptly managing the relationship with his gay daughter, was tweeted by @Sapphicticated. It has been viewed more than 12 million times, retweeted 122,000 times and has received 529,500 Likes.

The commercial was directed by Dr. Bowman through Lovo.
It’s not the first time that BBDO Belgium and Douwe Egberts have tackled a topical and difficult family subject. In 2014, three cups of Douwe Egbert coffee featured in a story about managing the aftermath of divorce.
