You can’t help but admire campaigns that are able to bend and twist to stay fresh and entertaining.
Should’ve Gone to Specsavers, which is part the vernacular in Australia, is currently ably promoting the chain’s free hearing tests.
And now BBDO New York’s You’re Not You is doing a stellar job of bonding Snickers to the NFL.
At the spearhead of the campaign, to coincide with the launch of the NFL season, is a series of You’re off your game when you’re hungry ad. In the first, a bloke turns up to a fantasy football get together dressed as a centaur because he got the fantasies confused.
In the second, a man shares way too much information about his ultimate fantasy when he was actually asked to pick his top fantasy player.
The spots kicked off their TV run during the first NFL game of the season between Kansas City and New England on September 7. They were directed by O Positive’s David Shane, who made Snickers’ Recovery Room and The News in February this year.
The spots are supported by a new collection of Snickers bars, whose packaging describes what can happen on the football field when you’re hungry – Bench Warmer, Benched, Blocked, Defeated, Defensive, Deflected, Denied, Downed, False Start, Flagged, Fumbled, Fumbly, Guarded, Incomplete, Intercepted, Off-Sides, Out of Bounds, Pancaked, Penalized, Punted, Rushed, Sacked, Sidelined, Snappy, Tackled, and Winded.
