Burger King’s jabs at McDonald’s are fun. The brand has turned competitive advertising into a joyful game that both brands play and audiences get to enjoy.
This National Burger Day in the UK, BBH London and Burger King cropped the names of McDonald’s meals replacing them with the last two letters of its Whopper, to proclaim superiority over its rival. The OOH and social campaign is running across the UK. In Burger King’s social posts, the line, “the clue was in the name all along”, wraps up the mischief.
