The bank for people who have idiosyncratic things they’d rather do than banking, has launched a special 11.50% savings interest rate for those with speciifc “idiosyncratic things” – like this month wearing double denim, being fond of rhinestones, or being somewhat argumentative. Bankwest’s wild idea, Interesting Rates, comes from Bear Meets Eagle On Fire. The promotion continues Bankwest’s unconventional approach and is designed to draw attention to its competitive, everyday savings rate of 5.75% p.a. – which is available to everyone.
The first burst of Interesting Rates% (for being into double denim, rhinestones, being argumentative), will be followed by two equally playful and niche rounds of Interesting Rates in October and November.
Rachel Aikin, GM customer marketing and communications, stated, “For a lucky, few there’s an epic promotional rate up for grabs, but at the heart of the campaign is Bankwest Easy Saver, with a competitive 5.75% introductory rate, and the flexibility and access customers want from a digital savings account.”
Micah Walker, chief creative officer, BMEOF, added, “It’s rare to find a brand that’s so willing
to try and do things differently. Interesting Rates is just another example of Bankwest understanding the power of that approach and backing an idea that might’ve seemed a bit crazy at first.”
