The IAB Australia Creative Showcase is in its ninth year. The importance of digital advertising has grown during every one of those years. So, therefore, have the awards that recognise cutting edge creativity and innovation in digital marketing.
The finalists for the Best of the Best FY 13/14 were the six winners [one from each] of the Creative Showcase Round 8 sections:
- M&C Saatchi: 8.6 – Project Clever Buoy for Optus
- Circul8: 8.5 – Tinder Takeover for International Women’s Day
- Clemenger BBDO Melbourne: 8.4 – Video Stamp for Australia Post
- Clemenger BBDO Melbourne: 8.3 – The Melbourne Remote Control Tourist for Tourism Victoria
- VML Australia: 8.2 – The Missing Person Pre-Roll for the Australian Federal Police
- Leo Burnett: 8.1 – Run That Town for Australian Bureau of Statistics
The judges came from digital agencies such as Digitas France, Ogilvy & Mather Japan, 358 Finland, McCann Worldgroup US and DigitasLBi UK.
And after judging, The Melbourne Remote Control Tourist campaign won top spot because “the judges were impressed that such an ambitious, innovative concept was executed in such a simple and clever way”.
The winners will be automatically entered into the IAB US MIXX Awards in New York City, and will receive flights for two people to attend in September, 2014.
At last year’s MIXX Awards, Australia won 9 Gold Awards and 2 Silver Awards, more than any other non-US country.
