Clemenger BBDO Melbourne has won the three-way pitch for BMW, replacing Ogilvy, which had held the account for nearly twenty-five twenty years.
Ogilvy repitched and regained the account in 2014, during a global reassessment of its agencies by BMW.
BMW general manager of marketing, Tony Sesto, commented, “BMW Group Australia is on the threshold of launching a range of exciting new products in new segments, and so we sought an innovative creative agency to design and implement campaigns to support these initiatives.
“We are delighted to be partnering with Clemenger going forward and we anticipate continuing our strong growth in the premium automotive market over the next several years.”
The win softens the blow of losing long-term client, Mercedes-Benz, during a global realignment into Publicis in February this year.
