In Australia, the Aleksandr Orlov and Sergei story, for comparison site comparethemarket.com.au, has taken a detour in the real world.
And Schwarzenegger has been picked up by realestate.com.au (which you could probably call a comparison site also), or rather its ad agency, BWM.
In the UK, the Aleksandr Orlov and Sergei story has motored into Hollywood instead and run over Schwarzenegger. Literally. The two meerkats ride around a Hollywood studio in a stolen buggy until they collide with Schwarzenegger, who is crossing the road. The ad promotes comparethemarket.com’s two for one cinema ticket deal for customers (on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for a year).
The newest episode in the maddest (and longest) ad saga that ever was, was created by Matt Hynds and Liam Wilson at VCCP, directed by Darren Walsh and produced by Passion Pictures. It was exclusive to ITV during Coronation Street, as part of comparethemarket.com’s sponsorship of the soap opera series.
