A Gold win or higher across the board for the same campaign. The ADVERTISING Club of New York has introduced the ADLOC, the ultimate award similar to the EGOT in the entertainment industry.
The ADLOC is awarded to an idea that earns gold (or its equivalent) at the ANDYs, D&AD, Lions, One Show, and Clios. Yes, its name is an acronym of all those awards.
And it begins with the ANDYs. The ANDYs is one of the earliest shows each year, with its winners announced in April.
No ANDYs win, no ADLOC.
The ANDYs is introducing the ADLOC with a humorous documentary-style video featuring Keith Cartwright, Gerry Graf, Bianca Guimaraes and Fernando Machado.
“The advertising industry has long been missing its own version of the EGOT. With ADLOC, we’re finally giving industry talent a new bar to strive for and measure themselves against. We’re excited to see how this new benchmark inspires the next generation of creative minds,” stated Anselmo Ramos, GUT founder & creative chairman.
“The ANDYs really set the tone for awards season. Statistically and emotionally. That insight is really all you have to know to get an ADLOC. And an amazing piece of work that can win gold across five of the most relevant award shows,” added Lucas Bongioanni, GUT New York chief creative officer.
The ADVERTISING Club of New York and Gut have also developed a website at adloc.org where creatives can check if they meet the requirements of an ADLOC.
The site will feature a comprehensive library of ADLOC winners, near-ADLOC honorees, creative rankings and a direct link to submit work to the Andy Awards. Creatives will also be able to track their Andy-winning ideas from the beginning of the award season all the way through to Cannes.
