Don Draper ended his last season without a job or a mistress, and perhaps also newly single. Small wonder, then, that he begins Season 7, staring at a psychedelic head trip.
It still follows the Dan Brown staring theme but, otherwise, this is a radical departure (a bit like the next era in real life).
Below is a recap of the posters that preceded. Last season’s Mad Men poster (6) was created by British illustrator Brian Sanders, whom Mad Men creator, Matthew Weiner, discovered after sifting through classic commercial illustration books from the ’60s and ’70s.
The series 7 poster was created by Milton Glaser http://www.miltonglaser.com/, the 84 year old co-co-founder of New York magazine in 1968, creator the Bob Dylan poster in 1967 and creator of the I Love New York logo in 1977, for which he now has a bit of a love-hate relationship.
“I’m sorry that people think that’s the only thing I ever did, because I have a lot of other work, much of which I think is more complex, more interesting and more worth talking about.”
“I did the bloody thing in 1975 and I thought it would last a couple of months as a promotion and disappear.”
