Ed Sheeran loves Heinz ketchup. Not in an, “I’m a brand ambassador” way. For real. He loves Heinz ketchup so much he has a tattoo of a bottle on his right arm.
In June, Heinz’ agency, David, capitalised on this passion (and Sheeran’s fame) with a wonderful film that drew on the singer’s unpretentious personal style.
David the Agency: A heartwarming story about Ed Sheeran’s love for Heinz Ketchup
Now David has gone one step further in consolidating the mutual love between Sheeran and Heinz ketchup. Heinz has matched Sheeran tattoo for tattoo. It has released a limited edition (150) of ketchup bottles adorned with Sheeran’s Heinz tattoo. The Sheeran X Heinz bottle also bears a paw print, a rose, jigsaw pieces and other tattoos on Sheeran’s body.
104 of the bottles will be given away via an online sweepstakes. Three bottles will be auctioned at Christie’s auction house to raise money for Sheeran’s two favourite charities, Rise Against Hunger and East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH). The rest will be given to superfans or will travel to select museums across the globe for people to come and see.
The bottles have been released as Sheeran nears the end of his Divide tour, which has broken the record to become the highest-grossing tour of all time.
