Corona with a slice of lime is a classic brand motif. Corona in harmony with nature is embedded in the brand’s soul. DAVID Miami has captured the once in a year moment to put the two together with an ambitious idea. The agency turned a solar eclipse sunset into a slice of lime perched on a Corona bottle.
The annular solar eclipse took place on Wednesday October 2 was visible over parts of South America, the Atlantic Ocean, and Antarctica. The next annular solar eclipse won’t happen until February 17, 2026. DAVID and Corona travelled to Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, and Argentina to catch the exact moment when the setting crescent sun sat on top of a Corona bottle as if it were a slice of lime.

The action, For Every Sunset, part of a global campaign, featured guest photographers and strategic locations chosen after extensive research to ensure the ideal positioning for the photo. The brand assessed the climatic conditions, especially the sun’s elevation in these regions so that a perfect slice of it could fit neatly into the bottle.
The photographers took an average of five minutes to get the shot right. “I’ve photographed eclipses before, but this is the first time I’ve led a team across five different regions of the planet. We had only a brief window to capture the moment due to the angle required to form the lime, and the results were truly incredible—perfectly embodying the essence of Corona,” stated Brazilian nature photographer, Marcelo Maragni.
In addition to the photo, posted on digital media, the shot is displayed in OOH in various locations and has the participation of a squad of influencers to show the perfect snapshot.
