What happens in a digital world when, in the analogue one, the landline phone rings? DDB Athens has turned that idea into an absurdly humorous commercial to launch – yes, a landline phone service. DEI, the largest energy provider in Greece, is entering the internet market by also offering a landline phone service.
The campaign takes Greek viewers into an epic invasion set in another era. Just as the tension reaches its peak, a group of fierce Vikings hides among the trees, preparing to attack and seize a small English fortress, when suddenly the phone rings. And that’s the moment when the epic heroes are forced to pause the battle until someone answers the phone.
Directed by Gregoris Rentis and produced by Topcut Modiano, the campaign gives a landline importance in a world that has pushed them to the sidelines.
