McDonald’s has always known about the power of emotion in advertising, especially the power of the emotional bonds within families. It has a very rich history of emotional ads to prove that. DDB Australia has added another star performer to the brand’s ad portfolio, the story of a mum who craves grandchildren – much to the annoyance of her daughter – and the daughter who goes out of her way to make her pregnancy reveal as special as it can be when the time finally comes. McDonald’s play the role of the reveal hero.
The ad is all the more emotive because it is launching in time for Mother’s Day. You will probably cry. You should, DDB Sydney has earned it.
