Publicis Seattle puts “culture” to good use in T-Mobile Super Bowl ad
The 30 second ad, Restricted Bling, for T-Mobile reimagines Drake’s chart topping song and video, Hotline Bling – to show what it would be like if the executives from a mobile carrier company got at it with revisions.
Drake responds with the patience of a saint to suggestions that he add to his lyric, “You used to call me on my cell phone,” the words, “device eligible for upgrade after 24 months,” and “streaming music will incur data charges.”
Publicis Seattle’s idea is show how restricted other phone plans are…The title, “Wireless carriers ruin everything,” makes sure you get the message.
T-Mobile is running two ads during the Super Bowl – and keeping the second one secret until the actual broadcast.
Last year, T-Mobile got Kim Kardashian to mock herself in the brand’s Super Bowl ad about saving unused data.
