Epica received 3410 entries from 61 countries this year with Germany leading, followed by France and the US. Increasing their entries were Georgia, Uzbekstan, Israel, Canada and China. That paid off handsomely for Canada, which has an impressive 45 finalists. Germany has 79 finalists, France has 70, The US has 57, the UK has 47, Sweden has 40 and Russia has 36. Australia has 6.
Independent agencies formed the majority of entrants.
Finalists were chosen by the editors and senior reporters from the world’s leading titles covering creativity and communications, supported by an online jury of journalists from specialists fields such as post-production, VR, design, luxury and fashion. The Stable editor, Candide McDonald, was a judge.
Winners will now be chosen by the grand jury, which meets in Amsterdam on November 18-20. Gold and Grand Prix winners will be awarded during a special ceremony at the Royal Tropical Institute (KIT) on the evening of November 21. Silver and Bronze winners will be published on the Epica Awards website the next day, November 22.
