Evan Schiller, a longtime creative director here at MAL has been part of a number of famous Apple work over the years, including A Critter Carol holiday film, Someday for AirPods – with Spike Jonze; Apple TV’s Everyone But Jon Hamm; Apple Privacy’s The Waiting Room; the original AirPods launch spot, Stroll; Share the Joy; and Earth Shot on iPhone (Sagan)…among others.
Today, he launching a deeply personal short film titled Time. ⏳

After two decades in advertising, Schiller understands a core truth of our industry – we’re trained to capture attention, compress emotion, and steal moments. With this project, created under the moniker, Ode, he chose to reverse that instinct. Instead of taking time, he offers it back.

Schiller describes Time as “an ad for awakening” – a poetic, intentional piece crafted with the same rigour we apply to our biggest briefs, but aimed at something far more human. There’s no product, no CTA, no transaction – just an invitation to pause and reflect on the one thing we all share and so easily lose.
The film was made with animator, Vincenzo Lodigiani, and music producer, Devin Gati, and was written and performed by Evan himself, created alongside his full-time role at MAL, driven purely by personal conviction rather than commercial ambition.
