A treat for US binge TV watchers that bonds them to LG. FCB New York and LG have just turned what they love to do into a competition. And the prize is a TV fan’s ultimate binge experience – a two-night stay in a recreated location from Arrested Development, The Crown or a surprise mystery show where winning fans can binge to their heart’s content on a 2018 LG OLED 4K TV.
The LG B&Binge competition targets the TV watcher which the streaming era birthed – the serious watcher.
“TV today has become such an immersive experience. Viewers form deeply ingrained connections to the characters, settings and plots,” noted Michelle Fernandez, head of home entertainment marketing, LG Electronics USA.
“With this campaign, they’ll be able to see, hear and feel the same things their favourite characters encounter. Our goal is to celebrate this new form of viewership and offer Serious Watchers much more than just a front row seat by placing them in the center of the action.”
The campaign builds on the success of last year’s inaugural Serious Watchers campaign, in which LG fans were given surprise deliveries of LG OLED TVs by favourite Netflix original series characters.
“TV culture has changed so dramatically in the past few years. The passion that fans have for their shows – that we all have for our shows – is off the charts. Our goal was to take this fandom to a new, immersed level and bring people even closer to their favourite shows while creating the ultimate TV experience,” explained Stu Mair, FCB New York executive creative director.
“This is a new entertainment model – the first guilt-free vacation where you’re actually encouraged to stay indoors, kick back and binge on.”
Participants enter the contest by detailing what makes them the ultimate fan and why they deserve to win the LG B&Binge viewing experience for their favourite show. Entries will be judged based on passion, originality, and execution. Two grand prize winners will be selected for each one-of-a-kind opportunity and each winner will be able to bring a guest.
