The fashion world is wallpapered in beige. The 123,456,789 ads it has churned out may be full of colourful fabrics (or relentlessly black ones from beginning to end of the eighties), the ads themselves are predominately forget-able. A few are memorable because they make you cringe.
When D&AD asked Rankin which ad he wished he’d done, you might have expected he’d look in the fashion genre. But would you have expected him to find something you wish you’d done too? He did. In 2013, one fashion ad rocked not just the fashion genre, but all wanky creativity.
