Women are in the news right now with IWD 2021 and two major events coinciding. Both the Australian and the US governments have women’s rights in their faces with sexual misbehaviour allegations made on very senior government officials in both countries. There is a women’s rights march in Australia on Monday, March 15, triggered by women’s frustration over Australia’s inaction. It looks as though “she’ll be right” is no longer a viable attitude. Women matter.
Brands are already realising they do. The advertising industry has been given the message it needed.
Gerety has been creating a series of panel sessions and interviews in which women’s voices matter. Talks about advertising, what works and why. The series began at the end of 2020 shortly after the most recent Gerety Awards and will continue to run throughout this year.
“As you know the Gerety awards is an all-female jury bringing to the forefront the female vision of advertising and to reinforces its value away from tokenism,” stated Gerety co-founder, Joe Brooks.
“Just like the award show, the Gerety Talks series puts some of the marketing and creative industry’s true changemakers in the spotlight – and at the center of the conversation – with the aim to drive progress within the industry on a global scale. The series brings together agency and brand leaders from around the globe for a refreshing take on what leadership looks like. Gerety Talks premieres on Facebook, IGTV and YouTube every Tuesday at 17:15 CET / 11:15 EST.”
