Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining has been given a really funny parody version in time for Halloween, by BBH Singapore for Ikea. [Adding to the fun is that Ikea’s maze of never-ending corridors doesn’t have to wear a costume to play the original movie’s haunted hotel corridors.]
And the ad’s big idea is even more clever. Could you come up with a more memorable way to point that Ikea is open for late night shopping until 11pm in Singapore?
There’s also a social media extension to the campaign. Several products have been hidden within the video for viewers to spot to win gift cards in the IKEA Halloween Spot & Win contest on Facebook.
