It has been a while since a brand tackled the annoying problem of people skipping its pre-roll ads.
Impact BBDO Dubai has just come up with a fiendishly brilliant idea to stop people skipping Snickers pre-rolls. The ads are video games that you can actually play.
In the first of the Pre-Video Videogames, a school bus driver (who fits the WWE wrestler model exactly) explodes in a road rage frenzy because he’s hungry. Players have to hit pause at the right time to help him get one of the Snickers bars that’s flying across the screen.
In the second, a British rock star tennis umpire launches a massive rebellion against the job assigned to him, that can only be appeased if the player grabs a Snickers for him to eat.
The ads will also run as traditional (non-game) TVCs.
