Shutterstock is bringing the D&AD Awards Ceremony to Australia. The private screening will be held at Sydney’s Eternity Playhouse Theatre in Darlinghurst.
At the same time as the ceremony in London.
And it’s free. It will be hosted by Jonathan Kneebone, co-founder of The Glue Society on Friday morning, May 20 from 9 – 11 am.
You get to experience the awarding of 2016’s Wood, Graphite, Yellow, White and Black pencils as the happen, see a selection of the best work and find out which work from Australia and New Zealand won 2016’s Wood, Graphite, Yellow, White and Black Pencils.
You will also get an insight into this year’s judging process and D&AD’s inaugural festival.
Jonathan Kneebone, co-founder, The Glue Society commented, “The diversity of creative work being scrutinised and judged at award shows around the world is growing and becoming ever more complex.
“And while at some events, every category has a winner, diluting the value of the achievements – D&AD sets a universal standard across all the various categories – and seeks out the stuff that is original, contemporary, relevant, valuable and brilliantly crafted. So a winner here is really worth celebrating and recognising.
“It will be fascinating to see these displayed, spot the trends and explore the reasons why certain work stood up to the scrutiny to the judges through the eyes of some of this year’s Australian jurors.”
Some of the Australian judges who participated this year at D&AD Judging will share their insights and outtakes of the jury experience as well. They are:
- Dave Bowman, creative director, Special Group (Integrated jury)
- Richard Bullock, director, Hungry Man (Creativity for Good jury)
- Jo de Fina, executive producer, The Otto Empire (Music videos jury)
- Tara McKenty, creative director, Google Australia (Direct jury)
