Eighteen years ago, Jonathan Kneebone and Gary Freedman dreamed up a new kind of creative business, an independent creative collective made up of top talent who blurred the edges between creative idea makers and creative executors but also worked with both to achieve some pretty remarkable work.
The Glue Society is known, admired and awarded worldwide. Its name is connected to ANZ GAYTMs with Whybin\TBWA, Canal+ with BETC, Doug Pitt with Virgin Mobile & Havas, Axe/Lynx with BBH, Gap with Wieden + Kennedy, NRMA Car Creation with Whybin\TBWA…the History Channel’s Unforgotten Soldiers, The Martian Embassy and Watch With Mother and God’s Eye View.
At the D&AD Creative Festival from April 20 – 22 in London, Kneebone will take his audience inside The Glue Society to find out about “Making Different Work”. His audience will get behind the scenes insights about the collective’s commercial and experiential direction, film entertainment, music videos and art…
…And explore with Kneebone whether working in a different way has allowed the group to create work which is in itself different.
Kneebone will join keynote speakers such as designer Sir Paul Smith, WPP CEO Sir Martin Sorrell, Ashleigh Axios (creative director & digital strategist for the White House) and artist and illustrator, Ralph Steadman.
Other Australians participating in the Festival include R/GA’s Nick Law and Frost’s Vince Frost. Both are jury foremen, Law for for Digital Marketing and Frost for Graphic Design respectively. And both will be providing insights into their jury’s deliberations.
