Black humour gives orthopedic shoes from US brand Kuru Footwear attention-grab status and solves orthopedic shoes’ tricky problem of sitting within a category that’s seen as dull and unfashionable.
The campaign’s hero commercial, Outbreak, by indie creative and production agency, Little Big Engine, follows a couple who have survived the zombie apocalypse – and made the resultant corpses useful, gaining shoes that provide life without foot pain.
The film’s absurd (gruesome) humour entertains, demonstrates the problem, introduces the product and dramatises the relief it provides – no doubt to a wider audience than orthopedic shoes are used to.
The campaign launches the hilarious brand platform, At Least My feet Don’t Hurt, and is running across TV, digital and social in the US.
