On Jack White’s official concert poster, players race around record grooves to get White and his band to the stage before showtime. The poster is a playable board game, designed by US graphic artist, designer, former dead of design for Third Man Records and agency exec, Matthew Jacobson.
Jacobson is known for for creating unconventional, interactive concert posters and album packaging for artists such as Jack White, The White Stripes, Spoon, and Beck.
This one, JACK WHITE: LAS VEGAS FRENZY, for Jack White’s show at BleauLive Theatre inside Fontainebleau Las Vegas on October 2 sold out in record time.

Artist copies went on sale Friday, October 9, for US$150 plus shipping through Matthew Jacobson’s Magic Paper shop at https://magicpaper.bigcartel.com/.
The idea carried beyond the merch table. After the concert, Jacobson hosted Jack White Game Night at Fontainebleau’s Azul Lounge, where fans gathered around tables to learn and play the game. The poster became both a souvenir of the concert and the playing surface for a shared experience afterward.

Frenzy is designed for two to six players, using three record grooves marked 33⅓, 45 and 78 RPM as its paths. Song-inspired cards and connections between grooves change players’ progress as they race toward SHOWTIME.
The 18-by-24-inch poster, printed by Baker Prints, comes with a 52-card game deck, six wooden playing pieces, a custom wooden die, four additional mystery cards and a rulebook. The game deck combines 45 Jack White cards with seven Las Vegas cards; the mystery cards are separate from gameplay.

Jacobson also worked with filmmaker, Steve Delahoyde, on a 1980s-style board-game commercial, now published on White’s official Instagram account. Jacobson wrote the spot, Delahoyde directed and edited it. The r 45-second commercial introduces the playable poster in the language of a vintage toy advertisement.
Earlier Jacobson projects include poster-sized playing cards for Jack White, playing cards for Spoon and a Cards Against Humanity poster accompanied by The Jack Pack. Jacobson co-wrote that set of game cards with Cards Against Humanity’s writers, and the company printed them. His concert posters have also incorporated magic tricks and scratch-off slot machines. One came with a free tattoo at the venue.

Frenzy follows the invitation printed on its rulebook – “Display it on a wall. Play it on a table.”
