The Christmas break seems to have been merely an intermission in M&C Saatchi’s winning streak.
On January 4 the agency was back on the podium with two wins in the Favourite Website Awards.
M&C’s interactive treasure hunt for CommBank, Where’s my Wallet, won both the FWA Site of the Day and FWA Mobile of the Day.
The game mimics Where’s Wally to underscore CommBank’s Cardless Cash service. Cardless Cash means that losing their wallet isn’t the end of the world for CommBank customers because they can still access cash without a card.
So M&C hid wallets in a 125 gigapixel panorama of Sydney [the largest-ever photo taken in Australia] to launch CommBank’s Cardless Cash facility.
The image was shot by Pixelcase and involved three rotating cameras taking 20,000 incrementally different shots of Sydney from the top of the Sky Tower. The frames were then painstakingly pieced together to build the one image.
Where’s My Wallet has also won October’s IAB Interactive Creative Showcase (9.2), Best Ads Interactive Ad of the Week commencing 10 December and a major case study in Contagious’ I/O.
