Kevin the Carrot has embarked on his ninth Christmas adventure with McCann and Aldi. This year, he is on a mission to rescue the Festive Spirit that has been kidnapped by the evil Humbugs (an apt metaphor for 2024). Santa Claus recruits Kevin and his wife, Katie, to infiltrate Humbug Headquarters, outsmart Dr Humbug and her minions and retrieve the stolen Spirit of Christmas.
The 90-second spot is sprinkled with a few delightful jokes for adults to fund. For their “impossible mission”, for example, they are armed with false moustaches and a briefcase whose false bottom is a “bottom”. “Cheeky,” Kevin notes. Ultimately Kevin and Katie achieve their goal of teaching the Humbugs that “Christmas is better when goodwill is returned”.
