Oporto brings a new weapon into the hot and spicy fast-food battle for attention – a series of ultra-bright, ultra-engaging 2D animated worlds by Mighty Nice in a campaign by agency, New Colony.
The surreal world of Joyride features desert colours, a convertible Cadillac, a wolf and the thrill of flying that represent the taste of Oporto’s Original Chilli. Your tastebuds light up, a jolt goes to your brain and a flood of feelings, emotions and memories are sent back to you.
Feelings, emotions and memories like these:

The second spot, Lemon Submarine, is all about the freshing zing of Oporto’s Lemon & Herb basting. It’s like a jump into a lake of cool:

Mighty Nice’s captivating animations are running in ads across broadcast, out-of-home and social.
Darren Price, ECD of Might Nice, stated, “Flaming wolves, saxophones, and chilli Thelma and lemon Louise driving off that cliff. It’s been mighty nice working with such a talented team and amazing client on this one.”
The campaign, Light up your tastebuds, launched on October 9 and will run for five months.
Ben Simmons, head of marketing at Oporto, commented, “Super excited to see this live. Oporto is a brand that offers Australians a range of flavours that ‘Light up your tastebuds.’ From our Original Chilli and Lemon & Herb bastings to our range of delicious sauces including Prego and Garlic, we take Australian tastebuds on an adventure each time.”
Mark Harricks, ECD & founder of New Colony, added, “This has been another successful example of a ‘new colony’ working at its best. A remarkable collaboration of a bespoke team of brilliantly creative minds—our clients included. We’ve all had a lot of fun working together on this.”
