Saatchi & Saatchi Australia has hired Aussie expat, Sesh Moodley, as deputy executive creative director.
Moodley has returned home to Sydney after five years in the US, most recently as ECD at Victors & Spoils, the breakaway agency begun by ex-Crispin + Porter adpeople. In the three years prior to Victors & Spoils, Moodley was a creative director at Crispin Porter + Bogusky, focusing on the growth of key business across Miami and Boulder, where he ran one of the agency’s biggest accounts, Best Buy. At AKQA San Francisco he led creative efforts for global brewer, Anheuser Busch. During his career, he was won all of the awards that matter, including two Warc awards for innovation.

Current executive creative director, Mike Spirkovski, has become the agency’s first national chief creative officer. Last year, Saatchi & Saatchi also hired awarded strategist, Kate Smither, as chief strategy officer.
Both appointments take immediate effect.
Spirkovski joined Saatchi & Saatchi in 2014, and under his creative leadership, the agency has won Campaign of the Year at the AdNews Awards (2015), best car ad in the world at the One Show Automotive Awards and its second Innovation Lion in a row at Cannes for Toyota’s LandCruiser Emergency Network, which has also won at numerous local and international award shows.

“It was such a natural decision to elevate Mike into this new position,” stated Saatchi & Saatchi chief executive officer, Australia and New Zealand, Michael Rebelo.
“He has been the creative partner every CEO wishes for, a fine leader of our creative department and a top partner and friend to our clients and the agency team. The great thing about Mike, even though he has achieved so much for Saatchi & Saatchi, is that his ambition is boundless.”
Moodley commented, “I’ve always been a big fan of Saatchi & Saatchi Sydney and their game-changing ideas for big brands. I couldn’t be more stoked to be back home for this role working with Mike and the team. What also excites me is the opportunity to help lead the agency’s creative efforts for some of Australia’s most iconic brands. I can’t wait to get stuck in and live up to their Nothing is Impossible spirit.”
Spirkovski added, “It’s a privilege and an honour to take up this new role. I’m really proud of what we have achieved as an agency over the past few years, and now with a strong deputy like Sesh in place, I know we will strive for even greater things. I’ve known Sesh since our days at Leo Burnett in the mid 2000s. He’s a prolific creative thinker who’s always on the edge of finding change and ways to grow and do better work. Sesh has developed into an inspiring leader, one that we are lucky to have as part of the Saatchi team.”
