It is hard to imagine why anyone would want to smell like a local bar (in US-speak, a dive bar), but that’s exactly what Miller High Life has been offering Americans for the holidays.
For non-US speaking readers, a dive bar is “typically a small, unglamorous, eclectic, old-style drinking establishment with inexpensive drinks; it may feature dim lighting, shabby or dated decor, neon beer signs, packaged beer sales, cash-only service, and local clientele.” (With thanks to Wikipedia)
According to the brand, Miller High Life Dive Bar-Fume is a premium (also hard to imagine) unisex fragrance with ingredients blended to evoke the dive bar experience.
They are:
- Champaca blossom – a flowery scent “reminiscent of a bartender cracking open a Miller High Life”.
- Cedarwood and patchouli – inspired by the wood of a bar top.
- Tobacco and leather – the scent of well-worn barstools.
- Sea salt – for “the basket of fries you look forward to at the end of the night”.
The fragrance was released in limited quantities available on the Miller High Life collections website for $60. It has sold out.
Its social media buzz, however, lives on:
