Mother’s frenetic Believe in Chicken campaign gives way to a new feeling. In Australia, that was the sensuality of a choreographed love story – on ice skates. In the UK, it’s the sensuality of The Cranberries’ song, Linger, soulfully reproduced by musician, Frank Watkinson, a continuation of KFC UKI’s call to Surrender to Tender. Wilkinson’s gentle interpretations of pop and rock hits have led to a following of 1.2 million on YouTube, giving KFC another new place in pop culture.
The film as directed by Iconoclast director, Jonathan Alric, Wilkinson’s soothing tones and the film’s minimalist style, evoking tenderness without hammering it into people’s heads (as is usual in fast food advertising).
