Cosmetic brand, E.l.f. has squeezed itself into the Olympics excitement – and the Hot Girl Walk TikTok trend as its first official beauty partner.
“The Hot Girl Walk is a four-mile outdoor walk where you can only think about three things: things you’re grateful for, your goals and how you want to achieve them and how hot you are,” Mia Lind, the TikTok content creator and creator of the Hot Girl Walk, told CNN. This trend has had an extraordinarily long lifespan – this is its fourth year.
E.l.f.’s two-minute video, Hot Girl Walk Championship, created by agency, Movers+Shakers, might be its last hurrah. It’s a fierce parody, with the look and feel of televised sports competitions, featuring Olympian, Gabby Douglas, and actor, Patrick Warburton, as sportscasters, giving a play-by-play commentary of three different walkers as they compete. Mia Lind, makes a cameo as a judge.
To tie the parody to real life, E.l.f. will sponsor a Hot Girl Walk event in Miami next month. E.l.f. is often found where younger consumers are playing. The brand recently launched a real-world commerce experience with Roblox, a gaming platform popular with young consumers. And last month it released an Animal Planet-style commercial starring British actress and activist, Jameela Jamil.
